Our Team

Dr. Shawn Kurtz was born in Columbus Ohio, the youngest of seven children. He attended The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He has been practicing in Yakima for over 30 years and is married with three children. He enjoys backpacking, hiking, camping, cooking, and gardening. Dr. Kurtz enjoys working with patients to help them with their visual needs and working with the latest equipment to keep their eyes healthy.

Dr. Vanessa Ramirez grew up in the Yakima Valley. She attended Central Washington University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2018. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Ramirez strives to address each patient's visual and ocular health needs and is always looking for new ways to improve the vision of her patients.
